10.5% prevalence of diabetes in adults
15–25% of patients with diabetes develop foot ulcer
Diabetic foot ulcer: Main cause of more than half of non-traumatic lower limb amputations. Diabetic limb Amputation Rate in India 15% Global rate 2.5%. It is a huge economic burden which exceeds around $7600 Dollars annual cost for each patient.

Save Limbs proved that Amputation is very much preventable provided there is a structured approach like Screening of Diabetic patients, creating proper awareness to patients, early identification of foot problems, proper intervention at various stages of foot problems, proper training of the health care professionals.
